Religion and Public Space: First Conference on Developments in Legal Regulation

The first day of the activity "Religion and Public Space: I Conference on Developments in Legal Regulation" has taken place at the Faculty of Law, which has been funded by the Government of Aragon.

The opening of the conference was carried out by the Director of LICREGDI, Prof. Dr. Zoila Combalía, who highlighted the importance of holding these conferences to address the regulatory changes affecting this sector.

Subsequently, the topic has been addressed in two presentations with different approaches to obtain a global overview of the subject. Firstly, Prof. Dr. Jaime Rossell analysed the legal aspects of the innovations, while, secondly, Prof. Dr. Jordi Moreras analysed the sociological aspects.

Both perspectives conclude that adapting policies to religious diversity is not
not just a regulatory matter, but a necessary effort to strengthen coexistence and
social cohesion in an increasingly plural and globalised world.

We are attaching the programme for the conference, which will continue on 3 October with a workshop-meeting with representatives of the religious minorities present in Aragon.
