Populism, religious and anti-religious radicalisation, and the role of women in religion, to be debated at the Faculty of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The opening of the VI Conference on \u00abFreedom of Belief and Diversity Management\u00bb was attended by the Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, the Director General for Equality and Families, the Deputy Director General for Religious Freedom of the Ministry of the Presidency, and the Director of the Laboratory of Freedom of Belief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first round-table discussion addressed the role of Muslim women in building an inclusive society and gender inequalities in religion, followed by a second round-table discussion on Islamic populism, freedom of expression and religious hatred, and radicalisation, Islamophobia and antisemitism in sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day consisted of Two round tables<\/strong>. The first, which took place at 11:15 AM<\/strong> aimed to make known The role of women in religion.<\/strong> To do this, he\/she\/they attended Isabel Romero<\/strong>, president of the Islamic Board and general director of the Halal Institute, who addressed the role of Muslim women in building an inclusive society. Gender, inequalities, religion and asylum were other topics they debated. Paloma Dur\u00e1n<\/strong>, Professor at the Jaime I University and Francisca P\u00e9rez,<\/strong> professor at the University of Barcelona. It was moderated by Caridad Velarde,<\/strong> of the University of Navarre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second roundtable discussion began at 13:00<\/strong>, where there was a debate on Islamic populism, freedom of speech and religious hatred, as well as radicalisation, Islamophobia and antisemitism in sport. For this task, we had Antonio de Diego<\/strong>, of Pablo de Olavide University and Mr Leal and Rafael Valencia<\/strong>, from the University of Seville. Moderated the panel Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez-Varas<\/strong>, professor at the University of Zaragoza and a member of the conference's scientific committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening of the event was attended by the Vice-Rector of Teaching Staff of the University of Zaragoza, Ismael Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>; the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Javier L\u00f3pez<\/strong>; the Director General of Equality and Families of the Government of Aragon, Teresa Sevillano<\/strong>; the Deputy Director-General for Religious Freedom of the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Mercedes Murillo<\/strong>; and the Director of the Laboratory of Freedom of Belief and Management of Diversity at the University of Zaragoza, Zoila Combal\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day continued in the afternoon, with a round table discussion in commemoration of 30th anniversary of the Cooperation Agreements between the Spanish State and religious minorities,<\/strong> where representatives in Spain of the main minorities attended, and a discussion with young university students, moderated by Jaime Rossell,<\/strong> Professor at the University of Extremadura and former Deputy Director-General for Relations with Religious Denominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this month of March, and following the Report on the Situation of Religious Minorities in Aragon, prepared by the Laboratory of Freedom of Belief and Diversity Management, there has been the first meeting, at which the Laboratory has been present, between the Government of Aragon and representatives of religious minorities in Aragon,<\/strong> where they could intervene by explaining the situation of their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
